How long have you been working at Guiding Fitness?

Just over two years. I just came in to do a class, and right away, I felt very welcome and knew I belonged. I had been doing mixed martial arts for five years. I was training in Nevada at the time and came down to help out at the flower shop. I took a class at Guiding Fitness and Kacie (Bryant) approached me after to see if I would want to teach a class.

What classes do you teach?

I am a kickboxing instructor and I teach boot camp, TAB (thighs, abs and booty), ’80s revived and step aerobics.

What do you like about working for Guiding Fitness?

Everything. I love the members, the atmosphere. It’s nice to work for a company you really believe in. We believe in an active lifestyle and that everyone can be healthy and active. It doesn’t matter what shape or size you are. Everybody is very encouraging, always there to help and mentor each other.

How long have you been at Lincoln Florist?

I have worked at Lincoln Florist for 4 ? years. I was driving through this town and said this town is so cute. I saw the shop, called and Jen (Ibarra) and I clicked right away. We’ve been best friends since the day I met her.

What do you do at the flower shop?

I am a designer. I arrange the flowers. I’ve been a designer for 10 years.

What do you like about working at the flower shop?

The atmosphere, who I work for and the people I work with who are awesome. How can you have a bad day when you are around flowers?

What is your favorite flower?

The belladonna because it’s wild and beautiful, vibrant and it’s very earthy and free. It’s a tall, bright blue flower.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Anything active. I have a good friend and she and I go running. If it’s sunny, I’m at the river.

Were you active in high school, too?

I was a swimmer and cheerleader. I was the school mascot, too. I went to Yuba City High School and I was a honker, which is a Canadian goose. It was so much fun, the costume was double my size.
