I finally get to write a positive letter about a business located here in Lincoln. My wife and I moved to Lincoln just under two years and shortly thereafter got a puppy. After that we found a vet that we really believed would take great care of him. Sadly, after the first real procedure we found out that we were 100% wrong. We had taken him in to have him fixed and the vet did not even bother to weigh him prior to surgery so they could give him the proper anesthesia or other medications. They just rushed him into surgery and started the cash register running. After the procedure we found out that in addition to nearly killing our puppy, they went ahead and overcharged us for doing it. After this we planned on just taking our dog to our previous vet and just making the hour plus drive to Grass Valley each time.

Then we were referred to Ken (DVM) and Kristi Pawlowski (they own Banfield Pet Hospital in Pet Smart) and have never even considered taking our dogs anywhere else. I have truly never felt more secure leaving my animals with anyone then I do with their entire staff. Each time we are there they go out of their way to take care of the dogs. A couple of weeks ago I had to take both of our dogs in for vaccines and I offered to hold them while the doctor gave them the shots. His staff would not even consider letting me hold them as they did not want the dogs to associate the pain from the shots with me. My puppy really hit her head hard against the leg of my table when we first got her and nearly knocked herself out. I was worried so I called Banfield expecting to talk with one of the assistants but no way - the doctor himself got on the phone and told me exactly what to do and what to watch for... Those things are just a couple examples of the extra mile that separates them from most Veterinarians I have been to.

Just be careful where you take your pets for their care. I can say without hesitation that I would recommend Banfield to anyone. Heck, I wish they were people doctors as I'd sign myself without a second thought. Thank you Ken and Kristi!! It's awesome to find such a great place to take care of our dogs.
